BECKY'S NEW CAR


SANDY DUNCAN [Becky] was born and raised in Texas and made her theatrical debut in Dallas at the age of 12.  Her New York stage career began at the New York City Center, where she appeared as Louise in Agnes de Mille's production of Carousel, followed by The Music Man, The Sound of Music, Finian's Rainbow and Life with Father.  She earned a Theatre World Award in Ceremony of Innocence and then got her big break in the Broadway musical Canterbury Tales, for which she received her first Tony Award® nomination in 1969 as Best Supporting Actress in a Musical.  Her second Tony Award® nomination was for her starring role in the The Boyfriend, for which she received the New York Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award. Ms. Duncan returned to Broadway as Peter Pan, earning her a third Tony nomination as Best Actress in a Musical.  She met her husband, Don Correia performing at Radio City Music Hall in Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Dance! The Correias went on to star in Tommy Tune's Tony Award® winning musical My One And Only.  She last appeared on Broadway as the "Merry Murderess," Roxie Hart, in the Tony Award® winning hit musical Chicago, a performance which won her great acclaim.  She has co-starred in Love Letters with Perry King and Peter Fonda, and returned to her roots at Dallas Summer Musicals, co-starring with James Naughton in the marriage musical I Do! I Do!  Her LA stage debut was in the Mark Taper Forum production of Vanities (Los Angeles Drama Critics nom).  The Berkshire Theater Festival premiered the play Free Fall, which Ms. Duncan both wrote and starred in. Other theatre includes The Fourth Wall Off-Broadway, the workshop production of Urban Cowboy, Circle Mirror Transformation, Driving Miss Daisy, Crimes of The Heart, Steel Magnolias, The Belle of Amherst, The Glass Menagerie (co-starring with son Jeffrey) and A Body of Water.  Ms. Duncan made her mark in television in her own comedy series, FUNNY FACE, for which she earned an Emmy Award® nomination.  She received her second Emmy nomination for her performance in the critically-acclaimed mini-series ROOTS.  Ms. Duncan returned to the "big screen" in the feature film Never Again starring the late Jill Clayburgh. Ms. Duncan starred in The Hogan Family, and the NY-based LAW AND ORDER and is widely known as the former spokesperson for Nabisco's Wheat Thins and the Sylvan Learning Center. Television specials: SANDY IN DISNEYLAND, THE SANDY DUNCAN SPECIAL and PINOCCHIO with Danny Kaye. Sandy was the very first guest on THE MUPPET SHOW and her career in voiceovers includes the original My Little Pony, The Fox And The Hound, Rock-A-Doodle and Swan Lake.  Ms. Duncan continues her commitment to AIDS and children's issues. Sandy and her husband still perform in Together throughout North America with countless symphony orchestras and they have two sons, Michael and Jeffrey Correia.



DAVID LEDINGHAM [Joe] Broadway: Starred in Lincoln Center's Tony Award® Winning The Light in the Piazza (1st National Tour). London: Steppenwolf's Tony Award® winning production of The Grapes of Wrath at The Royal National Theatre. Off-Broadway: Comedy of Errors, The Double Inconstancy, The Trojan Women and Quartet at B.A.M.  Regional: The Kennedy Center, Ahmanson Theatre, Old Globe Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, The Mark Taper Forum, Papermill Playhouse, San Jose Rep, Asolo Theatre. TED PEJOVICH [Walter] began his theatrical career at The American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Broadway: The Rothschilds. Off-Broadway: No Time For Comedy, The Night Seasons. Regional: The Voysey Inheritance (Walnut St. Theatre), The Little Foxes (Shakespeare Theater, D.C.); Twelfth Night, The Tempest (Oregon Shakespeare Festival); The Royal Hunt of the Sun (Vancouver); Volpone, Henry IV, Part I (Mark Taper Forum); Man And Superman (Syracuse); Wait Until Dark (America Stage Festival); Ligniere in Cyrano de Bergerac with Richard Chamberlain (Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, L.A.). Recent work: America's Most Wanted, Haber (film) with Juliane Kohler; Your Money or Your Life (festival film).


JEFFREY CORREIA [Chris] just got off a plane (literally) after spending a year teaching in Tokyo. Credits include:  Joey in Honus and Me (also by Steven Dietz) and Eugene in Broadway Bound at The Mountain Playhouse, TheaterworksUSA's national tour of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe [Peter],  Into The Woods [Jack] in association with NYC Opera, The White Rose [Christoph] at NYMF, and many others.  BFA from NYU-Tisch and graduate of Laguardia School for the Arts (the "Fame" school). He is thrilled to be working on stage with his mom again (at such a great theater!), following Mud Donahue's Eccentric Son [Jack] at The York Theater and The Glass Menagerie [Tom] at the Mountain Playhouse. LAURENCE LAU [Steve] recently played Steve Heidebrecht in the first National Tour of the Pulitzer Prize winning play August: Osage County. TV: Series Regular on All My Children [Greg Nelson], Another World [Jamie Frame], and One Life To Live [Sam Rappoport]. Recurring on As The World Turns [Brian Wheatly], JAG [Dr. Gettis]. Guest Spots: LAW & ORDER, FRASIER, DIAGNOSIS MURDER, BRIMSTONE. THEATRE: Off-Broadway: The Exonerated, Scituate, Arrivals. Regional: Whose Life Is It Anyway? Breaking Legs, The Goat Or Who Is Sylvia? HEATHER LEE [Ginger] is thrilled to return to her hometown of Aspen where she

made her stage debut as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She created the role of stripper Tessie Tura in the Broadway revival of Gypsy starring Bernadette Peters (dir. Sam Mendes). She played Babette, in the 1st National Production of Disney's Beauty & the Beast in L.A. and made her Broadway debut as Adelaide in Guys & Dolls (dir. Jerry Zaks). Regional highlights include: Backwards in High Heels (dir. Scott Schwartz); The Wiz, Palm Beach, and Elmer Gantry (dir. Des McAnuff) at La Jolla Playhouse; No Way to Treat a Lady (LADCC Nomination), Of Thee I Sing and A New Brain at Reprise!, Memorable TV: MODERN FAMILY, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, NUMB3RS, ACCORDING TO JIM, WINGS, FRASIER. AUTUMN HURLBERT [Kenni] recently played Kat in the Outer Critics Circle-nominated Tomorrow Morning at the York Theater Company. Broadway/Tour: Leilani in Legally Blonde, Beth March in Little Women (1st National Broadway Tour). NINA GABIANELLI [Miss Hannigan] A graduate of Boston Conservatory of Music, Nina spent several years performing in NYC. Aspen audiences know her from a variety of roles with Theatre Aspen, Aspen Community Theatre, and as a featured performer in the Crystal Palace Revue. Nina is currently VP of Programming and Education for the Aspen Historical Society. Some of Nina's favorite roles include Off-Broadway: Pretty Faces [Pleasure] Regional: Falsettos [Charlotte] Arden Theatre, Sunday in the Park [Frieda] St. Louis Theatre Factory, Evita [Eva] Buck's County Playhouse and last but not least, MAME [Mame] Aspen Community Theatre.


JULIA FORAN (Annie) made her musical theatre debut as Amaryllis in ACT's  Music Man in 2009. She is absolutely thrilled to be a part of this awesome cast. Julia enjoys singing, playing the violin, reading, being with her friends, playing with her dog, and Glee! She thanks her family for their love and support. Enjoy the show!

DENNIS KYLE [Rooster, Bundles] has been touring the globe with Disney in Concert-Magical Music from the Movies. Regional: They're Playing Our Song for Reprise, White Christmas [Phil Davis], Cats [Rum Tum Tugger], Seussical [The Cat in the Hat], Me & My Girl [Bill Snibson], Joseph... MELINDA COWAN [Lily] is thrilled to be spending the summer in Aspen! Some of her past favorite credits include Ellie in Show Boat (North Shore Music Theatre), Rose in Meet Me in St. Louis, Kitty in The Drowsy Chaperone, Anytime Annie in 42nd St., and the first national tour of Irving Berlin's White Christmas.   She is especially excited to be performing in Annie, since it is the first musical she ever saw!  Many thanks to her beautiful family for their constant love and support.


SOPHIE SCHLOSSER [Molly] just finished fourth grade at Aspen Elementary.  She's attended Theatre Aspen summer camps since age five and when she was offered the role of Molly, her screams of excitement shattered nearly every window in the valley.  Other shows: Theatre Aspen School's Willy Wonka [Varuca], Aspen's Got Young Talent, Guys and Dolls and Peter Pan (Jayne Gottleib Prods) and school productions. She is thrilled to be a part of a professional production with such outstanding artists. Hugs to her biggest fans; mom, dad, sister, brother and grandparents!


KARLIE NELSON [Pepper] is excited to be in her first show on the main stage for Theatre Aspen.  She has performed in theater since the age of 6, including Cinderella and Willy Wonka for Theatre Aspen School.  She also enjoys rock climbing and martial arts. Her dream is to continue acting and singing and become a veterinarian one day. 


TALITHA MCDOUGALL JONES [Duffy] has been singing and dancing since she was two. She was very pleased to be picked for this year's production of Annie. Apart from theatre she likes to ice-skate and be with her friends. One day she hopes to sing and dance on Broadway. Her dream role is Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.


TATUM MALENA SHANE [July] Born and raised in Aspen, Tatum began acting at age six in Jayne Gottlieb's production of Grease. Tatum has performed in thirteen musicals, including Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls, White Christmas and Seussical.  She also appeared in Fiddler on the Roof , Peter Pan as Tiger Lily and School House Rock where she was 'just a bill.' Tatum, 11, just finished fifth grade at Aspen Country Day School. Tatum also enjoys soccer, skiing, tennis and spending time with friends and family, especially her 16-month-old baby sister Remi.      


KAIA VRESILOVIC [Tessie] is 12 years old and goes to Aspen Middle School.  She is very excited to be part of Annie.  Last summer she played Violet in Theatre Aspen School's Willy Wonka, and has also performed in Cinderella, High School Musical, Buddy, Up in the Attic, and Walls.  Kaia studies dance, acting and voice and can hula hoop while doing another task!

 

DANIELLE ERICKSON [Super Duper Talented Orphan Standby] is thrilled to be joining Theatre Aspen this year in Annie and as Little Sally in Urinetown.  Danielle has been seen in many productions in the Valley but most recently she flew at the Wheeler as Peter in Peter Pan.  Other credits include Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical, Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Louisa in The Sound of Music and Gracie Shinn in Music Man.  Her love of theater and be attributed to her dad Tom...Thanks, Dad!  

 

FRANZ ALDERFER [Bert Healy/Ensemble] has appeared in Chicago and 1776 at Aspen Community Theatre and Forever Plaid at the Snowmass Chapel. Regionally, he was worked at the Guthrie in Minneapolis in Candide, and at Kansas City Starlight in The Wizard of OZ. On Broadway he was a Creole Gentleman in Marie Christine.


JEFFREY B. DUNCAN [FDR/Ensemble] spent 5 years playing FDR on the National Tour of Annie directed by Martin Charnin. Other Nat. Tours include Ragtime [Henry Ford/Father U.S] and Oklahoma [Andrew Carnes].  Regional: Sugar [Osgood], Marry Me a Little, Mid-life: The Crisis Musical, Mikado [Nanki Poo], The Beggar's Opera [Macheath], and Fiddler on the Roof.  Jeff is from Minnesota and asks that you help support the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).  Love to God, Family and Friends.

CHELSIE NECTOW [Ensemble] is thrilled to be making her professional theatre debut with Theatre Aspen, both onstage and off!  Favorite credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie [Millie], Evita [Eva Perón], The Last Five Years [Cathy] and A Chorus Line [Cassie].  Chelsie is a student at the Manhattan School of Music.  She sends her love and thanks to Wendy, Paige, and her family for their constant support.

 

ZOOT ALORS BENSON [Sandy] is a member of the Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol when he is not acting.  Heading into summer, Zoot was concerned about the potential lack of stimulation when the opportunity to go into theater arose.  He is flattered to join Annie and his human siblings Sonya and Ozzy have agreed to help him memorize his part.

SAMANTHA HARVEY [Dancer] Originally from Baltimore, MD, Samantha graduated as the valedictorian from Towson University with degrees in both Dance Performance and Sociology/Anthropology.  As a Radio City Rockette, Samantha has performed in the 31-city Arena Tour as well as on the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall.  She has also been selected for prestigious events including the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting, The Today Show, and the CBS Morning Show.  When not kicking with the Rockettes, she performs with the NYC-based contemporary dance company dre.dance and assists Artistic Director Andrew Palermo.  Samantha is excited to spend the summer performing at Theatre Aspen!

 

DESTAN OWENS [Man 2] is an Oklahoma native with a B.A. in Musical Theater from Oklahoma City University. JASON REIFF [Man 1] has toured nationally with The Who's Tommy [Tommy], How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying [Finch], and Les Miserables [Marius]. Recently he has performed at The Signature Theatre; DC, The Shakespeare Theatre Co., The Kennedy Center, Yale Institute for Musical Theatre, LaMama ETC. and The New York Musical Theater Festival 10', as well as numerous singing engagements in venues all around NYC. Jason earned his a BFA in Musical Theater from The Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and an MFA from The Academy for Classical Acting at GWU.

 

MATTHEW STEFFENS (Dancer)  is excited to be joining the Theatre Aspen family. Matt started off in advertising working in production directing & producing TV and Radio commercials. After 7 years, he decided to pursue his passion: performing. Past credits include Broadway: Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, Promises, PromisesGrendel, He has danced, fought and flown his way through 12 operas at the Metropolitan Opera including Robert Lepage's Damnation of Faust and Bart Sher's Les Contes de Hoffman. Tours: ContactWest Side StoryBeauty & the Beast. Film: Across the UniverseIllegally SuperClear Blue Tuesday. Dance: Helanius J.
