Join Theatre Aspen’s amazing Defying Gravity cast for one more night of fun and singing on August 22nd. There will be two special performances at 6 pm and 8 pm.  The late show will be a benefit performance for the I  ♥ TA new tent campaign!  The show features songs from megahits like Wicked, Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and from beloved musicals like Oklahoma and The King and I.  The concert features local stars like Nikki Boxer, Jon Boxer, Nina Gabianelli, Mike Monroney, Jeannie Walla, Peggy Mundinger and more!

This year's exciting musical is The Marvelous Wonderettes, which the New York Times called "one irresistible musical!"  Filled with iconic 50s and 60s pop music, this charming, fast-paced musical will delight all ages and leave the audience humming favorites like Heatwave, R-e-s-p-e-c-t, Mr. Sandman, It's My Party and Leader of the Pack!  Starring Aspen favorite, Beth Malone, from the original New York cast!

Running time: Two hours with intermission, show times at 7:30. All ages.

The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! is a clever musical which follows the fate of the Big Bad Wolf, now on trial for huffing and puffing and offing two innocent pigs.  The audience will decide his fate, but before they do, all the angles will be looked at - musically!  Your child can join the show for one special performance when he or she will get an up close and personal view of the justice system in Piggsylvania!

Running time:  approximately one hour.  Weekend shows at 10 a.m., evening shows 6:30 p.m.

One of the most popular romantic comedies ever, the Tony Award-winning comedy Same Time, Next Year follows a love affair between two people who rendezvous once a year, on the anniversary of their first tryst. The play drops in on the couple in five year intervals to chronicle their personal evolutions against the backdrop of social change. Twenty-five years of manners, morals and attitudes are hilariously enacted by the lovers who, incidentally, are married to other people.  Running time: Two hours plus intermission.  Ages 12+.

What's Your Story?

Based on The Moth, New York's critically acclaimed ongoing storytelling event, "What's Your Story?" is an evening of short, personal stories told live without notes.  Sure to be provocative, funny and touching.  Recommended for mature audiences, or children being punished.  Think of it as one big Time Out. 

90 minutes without intermission.  Good for ages 13 and up.  Tickets $17.

Aspen's Got (Young) Talent! Back by Popular Demand!!

Theatre Aspen will once again showcase Aspen's young Singers, Musicians, Bands, Scenes, Monologues and Dancers for TA's Sunday Main Stage Series.  Aspen's stars-to-be aged 10 years through 18 will rock the house on August 1 at 6:30pm!

 (Open auditions will be held soon for any youngster in the Roaring Fork Valley who wants to participate).

Take a magical tour through the tastiest factory on earth with Charlie, Violet, Mike, Veruca and Augustus as they meet the world famous "Candy Man" on his quest to find an heir. Working with theatre professionals, students will have a "sweet" time performing this classic musical! Directed by Tammy Baar!

Bring on the paparazzi! Building on last year's popular Acting for Film and TV class, this year students get to make a movie with industry professionals!  Grab some snacks and watch Aspen's young talent in a REAL movie!
